プログラミングの手法を用いたファブリックデザイン
Generative Design Fabric は、プログラミングによってデザインされた、生地を使った作品です。
あるデータの入力によって、生成されたパターンや、ランダム的に生成されたパターンなど様々です。
パターンは無数に生成されて、消えていきます。
普段、デジタルアートは形あるものにならず、モニターや、スクリーンに表現されるのみです。
このプロジェクトは、形として残らないデジタルアートを現実のものに落とし込むという試みです。
なぜ、ファブリックなのか？
布は、生活の中で最も欠かせないもののひとつです。
洋服、カーテン、寝具、小物など、ファブリック製品は、生活に必要なものです。
普段の生活では、触れる機会の少ないデジタルアートをファブリックと融合させることで、
デジタルアートを身近に感じる機会を提供します。
また、デジタルアートは無限に複製が可能です。
アートと言うと仰々しい感じですが、誰もが気軽に、アートを所有するという楽しみを提案します。
生活に溶け混むデジタルアートという考え方をテーマにしています。
Fabric design made by programming.
Generative Design Fabric is collaborative Fabric material creation by programming.
Programed Patterns are printed on Fabrics.
Some patterns are random while some are made by certain data.
Patterns are infinite due to limitless characteristics of programing data.
This project aims to add new value of physical form into none physical digital art world.
Why fabric?
Fabric is one of the most essential materials in our life.
Clothing, bedding, curtains, accessories, etc. Products made of fabric are necessary in our daily life.
By combining digital art and fabrics, it offers an opportunity to feel digital art as part of everyday life.
Sometimes, Art can be difficult for some people.
This is proposal to make art easy for everyone.
The purpose is digital art being part of everyone`s daily life.
ファブリックパネル
プリントした生地を使って、ファブリックパネルを制作しました。
ファブリックパネルは、生地を木製のパネルに張り付けた物です。
冬が長い北欧で、室内に彩を与えるために生まれました。
ファブリックパネルは壁に掛けて飾ったり、棚の上などにおいて飾ったり、使い方は自由です。
ジェネレーティブデザインファブリックはパターンの向きを決めていません。縦でも、横でも、ななめでも、
お好きな向きで飾り付けることができます。
アートを生活に取り入れると考えたとき、「絵画を部屋に飾る」となると、少しハードルが高く感じられます。
ファブリックパネルは、部屋に取り入れるアートとして、気軽に飾り付けるのにちょうどよいものです。
これらの幾何学的なパネルをアクセントとして、お部屋に取り入れてみませんか？
Fabric panel
I made fabric panels using Generative Design Fabric.
Fabric panels are wooden panels with fabric attached to them.
It was made in northern Europe to brighten the room during winter seasons.
Fabric panels can be used in many ways, such as putting on a wall or placing it on a shelf.
The same design can be placed in different ways. There is no up, down, right or left in Generative Design Fabrics. It can be displayed in anyway you want.
When people try to include art in their daily lives, such as putting up paintings in your room may be too big of a hurdle for some.
Using Fabric Panels are perfect to have something casual as art in your room.

2段階のアウトプットが存在します。
1.プログラマー、エンジニアによる、パターンデザイン、生地制作
2.作家、職人による生地を使った、プロダクト制作
1段階目のアウトプットは「素材」としての生地です。
2段階目のアウトプットはプロダクトです。
生地をどのように加工していくかで、表現の形は無限にあります。
生地を扱う、職人さん、ハンドメイド作家さん、伝統技能など...
コラボレーションによってさまざまなプロダクトに変身することができます。
今後は、コラボレーションを加速し、様々なアウトプットを目指します。
Next Step
Generative Design Fabric is collaborative Fabric material creation.
It has 2 phase of output.
1: Pattern design and Fabric Printing by programmer and engineer.
2: Product making by handmade artists and Craftsman.
First phase of output is fabric as "material".
Second phase of output is product.
Fabric can change into another product by third person.
We can collaborate with handmade artists and Craftsman using with these fabrics.
